New Year Speech
New Steps With Reforming
Fulfilling the Chinese dream in the active Year of the Horse. In the new year, we express our sincere gratitude to all CAPS members, directors, and all circles friends who cared, supported and helped us-we wish you all good health and good luck during the Year of the Horse!
In the beginning of the new year, we are inspired by the New Year’s Greetings from President Xi Jinping at the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference tea meeting. He pointed out: "This year is the beginning to carry out the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. We will promote reform comprehensively and carry forward the reform-innovative spirit such as keeping up with the times, deligently exploring, participate in work bravely, and try to be the reforming advocators and positive participants, putting the reform into practice to create a better life."
The outlook is encouraging and the task is glorious but difficult. Great ambition leads to great accomplishments, and it is constant hard work that achieves great accomplishment. The Chinese Association of Productivity Science was founded 30 years ago as a result of the reform and opening. Since the beginning of its founding, the Association’s task is to provide theoretical research to support China’s reform and opening, and promote productivity development. Its work gradually leads it to become an academic group playing the role of national think tank. In the new year, we shall maximize and aggregate the positive energy of the reform and opening, and align our tasks with those of our country.  Playing to our strength,  we will serve our country, different regions, and enterprises. Specializes in discovering the unintelligible, CAPS is dedicated and committed to accomplish various research topics and propose realistic and practical strategies.
We have just held the seventeenth annual meeting. The meeting's sub-theme was "Productivity Revolution in the Era of Big Data". Since the middle of the 18th century, there had been three technological revolutions. Technological revolution is essentially productivity revolution; each technological revolution stimulated productivity development by leaps and bounds. In those three technological revolutions, China was not a main force, not even a main participant, and was merely impacted in certain areas. Now is different, this time we have considerable power and scale in the scientific and technological front – we already have a full range and large numbers of high-tech talents, and we have become the world’s second largest economy. This time, we should be a main participant and should play a leading role in certain areas, and we cannot let go of this opportunity. Our members have already shown their relevant wisdom and insights at this annual meeting – CAPS Vice Presidents Li Boxi and Yuan Daomou were highly praised by meeting delegates on their insightful presentation views. Due to time constraint, we were not able to conduct detailed discussions. The annual meeting is a good starting point, I hope that all members and directors of our Association will carry forward our admirable tradition and actively involve in the theoretical study of productivity revolution and development during China's deepening reform and opening, as well as productivity revolution and development in the era of big data. In order to realize the great goal, we must take responsibility and dedicate to the undertaking.
In this new year, we bless our motherland, and sincerely thank the people who contributed to the China dream, and we want to be one of them.
